Michigan Prisoner Family Needs Assessment Survey

In May of 2014 the Family Participation Program began assisting families and loved ones of incarcerated individuals to learn how to navigate through the Michigan prison system. This work includes assisting family members in becoming best advocates on behalf of their incarcerated loved one and to decrease the barriers that exist, lowering stress on all involved.

This project is funded through a private grant, not through the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC). The MDOC is supportive of the program. There are four pilot prisons where information has been made available on the resources available to families and prisoners. The program is open to all families who have a loved one within the Michigan Department of Corrections. Resources may be found on the website to assist in navigating through the system.

By participating in this Family Needs Assessment Survey you will help provide necessary information to assist in securing further funding and assist in determinations about the program. Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey.
